Mysterious sync error with DTTG 3 and dropbox

Every few minutes, I get this error message:

Error
Couldn’t write worker context to volume.

When I click okay, I get the following error message:

Error
Couldn’t write sync context.

When I click OK here, I get the first error message again, and so on. This cycle repeats three times.

Then it goes away – for a moment, sometimes a few minutes, before starting over again.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

This response is in lieu of anything more helpful, which is sorely lacking from my repertoire:

  • have you restarted the iOS device, and does the error persist?
  • have you installed DTTG 3.5.2, which was made available in the past few hours?
  • have you tried from another network?
  • do you have enough space available on Dropbox?

In addition: a similar error message was fixed in the past by running a service command; see here for details.

Is there still enough disk space available on your device?

This might be related to documents having names with disallowed Unicode characters in them, usually PDFs from external sources such as libraries. Could you email us the file Console.log that you find in the Files app > On My Device > DEVONthink or by opening a support email from inside DEVONthink To Go (database list, Help button, Contact Us)?
