Note name extensions - a case of "too much information"

I have just noticed all my notes in DT4 have an extension based on the document type. In DT3 I think I could name a note without any extension, but I cant seem to do that with DT4. This is a slight problem when converting say a markdown document to a formatted note - the title of the FN includes the originating file’s extension, even though the document as a FN has the html extension. Thats weird.
Example: Say you have a text note such as “MyBrilliantIdea” - as it appears in the DT4 file browser (Inbox, say), it is named “MyBrilliantIdea.txt”. If I convert it to a formatted note - I get a new file called “MyBrilliantIdea.html” When I open it, it’s title is “MyBrilliantIdea.txt”

What would I like: well I would like to create notes without extensions in the file list view because DT4 knows the document type anyway (what do I care - extensions are a machine thing, and DT4 knows the document type). That way, a converted note gets its proper title.
e.g. “MyBrilliantIdea”

Showing file extensions can be turned on / off somewhere in the settings of DT. That effects wiki-linking and also might effect the behavior you are describing.

Supplementing @Farath’s reply, In DEVONthink Menu: Settings → Tab General → Section “Appearance”, uncheck “Show filename extensions”.

Thank you all - I confess I missed that in the settings - my bad

And yes, it seems to solve the title of formatted notes.
