This is two related issues:
iOS18.7.4 /DTTG3.fully updated
Very infrequently the FaceID unlock of DTTG will not work due to bad lighting or some banal reason and then it presents me with the passcode unlock feature. Not a huge problem in and of itself except that, also occasionally, when that does happen and I do type the pass code nothing gets entered and you have to force quit DTTG and restart it.
If that was the only issue I probably wouldn’t bother bringing it up as it’s been a mild annoyance for a few years but veeeeerrrry occasionally. In fact it’s so very occasional that whenever I’ve thought to try to screen capture it happening I’ve been unable to force it to happen and given up and moved on.
The new recently discovered oddity is this:
I recently did a search in DTTG where I absentmindedly typed my 6 digit unlock passcode into the search window and it gave me a few results. Startled, I looked into the resulting documents, all md files, and in all of them there was my passcode, somewhere random in the text, usually at the end of a line.
OK, so that’s weird. One could conclude that those times where I was typing in my passcode and seeing no filled up little dots in the passcode window, that behind the window the numbers were being typed into the last md file I was editing, or something like that.
One last little glitch is: I have deleted the occurances where the passcode existed in text but some of those docs still show up when I do a search for the passcode. When I do a within-the-document search it finds nothing so I assume the spotlight index (or it’s iOS equivalent) hasn’t updated.
Like I said at the beginning, a minor issue and maybe one that will go away when I upgrade to a phone that can use iOS 26 and DTTG 4.
