OCR in PDF does not work

OCR in PDF does not work

Converting PDFs without text using OCR does not generate a file with text.

OCR settings: Make scans searchable enabled, languages: English, German.

Nothing happens.

Has anyone else noticed this?

iOS 26.2 DTTG 4.0.3 (18090)

Please clarify your process.

The same goes for Chinese.
But the English is normal.
It was reported in version 4.0.2, but it has not been resolved yet in version 4.0.3.

After scanning with an Epson, I save or share the file with DTTG. The file has no text layer. Attempting to convert the file to a searchable PDF fails. Nothing happens.

The whole thing can be reproduced on iOS 26.2 with a 14pro. Even after restarting the device.

The conversion works perfectly on iOS 26.2 on my iPad Air 4.

A screenshot to supplement the topic.

The process does not progress and remains in the pop-up. This is also the case when attempting to terminate the process.

The message remains even after closing the programme and reopening it.

What file format is the EPSON producing?

20260120-211935.pdf (507.6 KB)

It is a PDF file without a text layer.

PNG files are also not converted.

I imported into DEVONthink 4.1.1 and I have a Smart Rule to OCR all incoming PDFs. It OCR’ed it just fine, far as I can tell.

Conversion of md to pdf works fine.
