Older Intel IMac and new Mac book

I have been using Devonthink Pro for quite some time on my older intel based Imac when I found out up the latest update 4 Pro, it would not upgrade after paying for the upgrade. I bought a new MacBook pro and the latest version is on it. How long can I run the Devonthink Pro 3 on my older mac? Is it best I upgrade to server version when it is only me using this wonderful software? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated like some I recently upgraded the updates for 3 years.

Which macOS version do you use on the Intel Mac?

Why do you think you may need the Server edition?

I am running Monterey Version 12.7.6

I was think the server pro edition as it will not matter how old the OSX is or eco systems, let it be MAC or PC. That would be the main reason for upgrading to server. May be an overkill for my application. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

I guess it will matter very much for the machine you run the server on. And I’d frankly not try to run (very) old versions of macOS that get even fewer security upgrades than the current ones. Much less if I was thinking about running a server on such a machine.

If you’re willing and able to pay for it, you’re more than welcome to. But I wouldn’t consider it some kind of future-proofing. It’s intended for a very specific purpose, broadcasting databases on a network, typically in cross-platform environments in offices, academia, etc.
