Omni Outliner and Omni Presence

I’m an avid user of OmniOutliner and I was very happy to see that DT can now read the OO files.

I use Omni Presence to be able to work across all my Apple devices, but that results in my very important outlines not being part of DT. I frequently try copying a file to DT, but I’m then cursed with two versions of one outline and all the problems that comes with duplicate copies of a single file.

Any ideas on how to implement Omni Presence and DT, such that I only have a single copy of a file that is both part of my DT doc management system while still allowing the convenience of Omni Presence?

Thanks
Larry

With File > Index, index all or a part of your OmniPresence folder. The folder is usually located in the root directory for your user, but check your OmniPresence configuration to find it.

DT can read the ooutline file but when you search a term it does not highlight it as it would do in a pdf document OR am I missing anything?

No, you’re not missing anything. What you see in DEVONthink (or in Finder, PathFinder, or other file system browser) is a preview generated by a helper app provided by OmniGroup. The data in the preview are not selectable. It’s not a shortcoming of DEVONthink, it is a shortcoming of OmniGroup, the author of the software.

Thanks for your documented answer …Do you think it will be fixed as it would be very handy ?

Not sure. Perhaps ask on their forum?

Hmm … I used to be able to see a preview of an OO file in DTPO, but now I don’t. I just get the icon in the viewing pane. I’m using the latest versions of each. Do I need an add-on of some kind to view OO files in DTPO?

I’ve noticed the same thing with OO 5.2 – no previews in Finder, PathFinder, DEVONthink, etc. Even when OO is uninstalled and reinstalled. I sent OmniGroup a bug report this morning.

OmniGroup is having a problem with QuickLook across all apps on High Sierra.
