Opening Devonthink link from Fluid?

I use Trello in Fluid.app for project management, and Devonthink as the reference repository for those projects.

If I paste a Devonthink “Copy as link” URL in Trello/Fluid, Fluid attempts to open the link on the web and fails. Is there a way to get Fluid to interpret Devonthink links so they open on the desktop?

(Someday, one day, it would be great to see Devonthink provide something like the Trello interface, or Scrivener’s cork board, for visual kanban-style management of information.)

Since Safari and other browsers recognize these links, whether in a locally-stored page or one served remotely, I assume this is a limitation of Fluid. Have you raised the question with Fluid support?
