Paginated PDFs on DTTG

I’ve not seen any recent posts on this (I.e. last 18 months) so apologies if I’ve missed something. Would it be possible with the new version of DTTG to get the option of saving a paginated PDF via the DEVONthink browser shortcut (Safari in my case), like is possible with DTP? I assume the reason we don’t have it currently is because of a limitation with the PDF kit? But it’s frustrating.

Historically, I was using Safari’s Reader view on iPad to print to PDF. This sufficed though was a little frustrating as I had to go back into DTTG to add the file URL, and on iOS print to PDF doesn’t retain hyperlinks for some reason (it does on MacOS). When the Reader view wasn’t what I needed, I had to wait until I was at my Mac to save something to PDF, which was not ideal.

With the recent iOS changes though, Reader view takes more clicks to access, and also feels like it’s becoming less serviceable for some articles (e.g. not loading diagrams correctly). On MacOS, I’ve observed that the DEVONthink plugin has had far less problems converting to paginated PDF, so I’ve switched to using that full-time on Mac. I’d like to do the same on iOS and eliminate the need to move between devices.

Yes, I agree, this would be an extremely useful update, adding a great deal of functionality, especially as a ‘read it later’ feature.

It’s something being looked at.

This limitation is a hard-stop for my workflow. I need to output paginated pdfs from DTTG. Now I will have to move my .md files somewhere else outside of DTTG for transclusion and printing. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

This is planned (actually already implemented) for the next major release of DEVONthink To Go.
