PayPal is giving away a year of Perplexity Pro for Free

I’ve been holding on off trying the LLM integration because, well, I’m cheap. But I’ve just looked into this deal with Paypal and Perplexity.

I understand this is only for new subscribers and it’s for a year (so remember to cancel in 364 days if you don’t want to pay).

With a Perplexity Pro subscription, you get $5 of credit to use the API each month, on top of access to the chat interface (and probably other things). I’ve no idea how far $5 will go, but enough to get a feel for what LLMs can do with your Devonthink data.

NOTE:
The Perplexity API is quite limited compared e.g. to OpenAI, Anthropic or Mistral and also more expensive than e.g. GPT-5 or Gemini Pro. It’s okay for performing a quick web search. But by default the responses are too bloated lately for my taste.
