Permissions Popup in DT4 Beta 2

When I use the Finder Inbox to put a file into DEVONthink, for a very brief moment there is one of these MacOS popups asking for some permission to do something. I think it is “control other applications/Finder”, but it only pops up very briefly then disappears and the file lands in the Inbox.

I have gone through all the possible permissions in System Settings and given all to DEVONthink, but this still pops up.

I can’t sceenshot it and I also cannot click on “allow” because I’m to slow. This appears only very briefly.

I get this also. Can’t get to it fast enough to eleborate.

Is DEVONthink allowed to automate the Finder?

If you mean this toggle in “Privacy”, then the answer is yes. Has been on for a while and the problem persisted.

But now I noticed something: when the popup comes up it does get the focus and “allow” is preselected. So you can put files into the inbox and wait for the popup and just press Enter in the right moment. After I succeeded once, the popup is now gone.

(And I just read on Mastodon that Beta 3 is out…)

I “solved” that issue with a trick: copy a file (cmd+c) then go to Inbox folder in finder and paste the file (cmd-v). You won’t catch the popup but take visual where it appears and where the button is. Point the mouse to that area. Now, with the keyboard only, select the Inbox finder folder (cmd-tab), paste one more time, alert to click in the popup button. Normally I need two or three tries to press the button. Once done, delete the pasted files from Gobal Inbox.

If I remember well, even allowing DT the popup still appears, thanks to this Ultra-Secure Apple disturbing user with silly stuff but leaving a backdoor to allow them to remove the local security and force a macOS update without user intervention.
