Here is my use case. I am often working on a single project or going on a trip. It would be really useful to be able to put that Group at the top of the DTTG side bar (Above Global Inbox like I can with favourites in DT).
If I add the Group to DTTG favourites, I have to scroll down, open favourites and then click on the group. Favourites is usually off screen as I have several databases.
It would be great if I could put either favourites or pin the Group to the top above the Global Inbox so it was a single click to see the contents. Quick access at the airport helps with the stress of a trip 
Are you on an iPad or iPhone?
On an iPad, you can select Go > Favorites.
And with an external keyboard – on either device – you can press the appropriate shortcut.
On iPad where do I find go>Favourites? I can’t see it anywhere.
To answer your question, mainly on iPhone.
Found it. You have to be on windowed apps. Menu not available if set to full screen apps.
Id like to second this request. By coincidence I had the same frustration this week and thought I’d post about it but I’ve been beaten to it.
I have the same reasons as saltlane, but also I don’t use the smart groups function on DTTG so having the list open is unnecessary visual clutter I just don’t need.
