After installing DTPO2, when I click prefernces nothing happens (no prefernces window). Same for the DT sorter preferences.
I tried cleaing up as instructed in the install guide prior to upgrading to DTPO, but I didn’t delete any folders afterward.
Thanks for any help.
Has been anything logged to the system console (see /Application/Utilities/Console.app)?
I’m not sure what I’d be looking for exactly. I searched for messages from devonthink I got three logs with significant entries. The first was short and the second 2 were identical:

Which version and edition are you using? Did you try to reinstall the application by downloading it from our website (devon-technologies.com/download/)?
This is the latest beta version of DTPO2.
I repaired permissions on the main HD and found many problems.
Then deleted and reinstalled DTPO2 using a fresh download of the app.
I’m running Hazel and noticed that it didn’t ask to remove any related files when DTPO2 was trashed. Strange.
Still no preferences after the reinstall 
Any suggestions?
Last idea coming to my mind is to delete the preferences (com.devon-technologies.thinkpro2.plist).
Spotlight for some reason couldn’t find the .plist, but when I checked in the file system myself I found it and deleted it.
There is still no preferences. Do I need to reinstall again? Will DTPO2 create it on it’s own?
Do you use any add-ons patching the system, e.g. input managers, haxies by Unsanity, Default Folder X, contextual menu items? Are you able to access the preferences using a new user account?
Thanks for the ongoing suggestions. No haxies or other patches to the system. I found that there were problems with file permissions and the file system which were repaired. DTPO2 was then reinstalled again with the same outcome.
I will check to see if another user might be able to access preferences and I’ll try installing on an old bootable backup of the system too to see if installing it there is different.
