Hello,
I am a relatively new user of DEVONthink and for now I love this program. Due to my habit to work with finder’s column view, I prefer to use columns in DEVONthink too.
One issue I found is that the preview panel at the bottom of column view is really distracting. Is there a way to take it off the view or move it to the far right?

No, this is currently not possible. It is under consideration for future releases, but no promises.

It would be equally nice if the preview panel can be pull further downward and leaving only the upper bar visible (i.e. the one showing the back/forth and other information). 
I mean just like the faked image attached: pull the preview panel all the way down just to show the upper bar.
