Question about saved files

I have several programs that I keep my saved/working file directly in DEVONthink, open it from DEVONthink in whatever software it uses, then save when I’m done.

My question is; if I close DEVONthink before I finish working on and saving my file, will it still save in DEVONthink?

Assuming and expecting you “save” it with the app you are using, it should as the file is opened from the DEVONthink file location.

Try. Do a test. try and see what happens. in the app you use see it it can tell you and confirm it is a DEVONthink location.

Yep it did thanks! I wasn’t sure if it might corrupt if I closed DEVONthink.

Some apps will save temporary versions of the working file, so keep an eye for it. If you at some point want to “Save As…” a copy, then save it to the desktop (that’s what I do) then drag it back into DT. That’s what I do. Occasionally I end up having multiple copies of a file, and I always have to make sure the most updated one is DT, and I open it form there.

I am curious to know what apps open temp files and do not return saves to the file opened.

ScriptDebugger does that, and a few other - when I remember I’ll post back.
