Question about using Bonjour and iCloud at the same time

Dear community,

I’ve been using iCloud to sync between my MacBook Pro and DEVONthink To Go for quite a while. However, it’s not ideal for larger documents. My iPad has limited storage, so I rely on shallow sync (downloading files on demand). Downloading larger files via iCloud often takes a significant amount of time and tends to interrupt my workflow.

For this reason, I’ve decided to additionally configure Bonjour sync, while keeping iCloud remote sync enabled as well. According to the documentation, this setup is supported:

My question is:
When both sync methods are configured, which one does DEVONthink / DEVONthink To Go prioritize? Does it attempt a Bonjour sync first when a local connection is available, or does it default to iCloud?

Many thanks in advance — and apologies if this has already been discussed. I know sync is a frequently covered topic here.

Best,
Anton

Anton, which iCloud sync are you using, Legacy or CloudKit?

I’ve found this comment by @cgrunenberg from 2017:

It seems that Bonjour sync has a priority if two sync methods are enabled.
