Question to licensing model Standard or Pro

I have a question about the licensing model. My wife and I have been using the Pro version (privately, not professionally) with three seats for some time now.
Now I need two more seats for my children (14 and 10) to back up their school documents and give them access to their files. Both have their own Apple computer (no, we’re not rich, they’re old devices :wink: ) and I would like them to learn proper data storage from the outset.
If I buy two seats for Pro now, it would be a waste of money, as the kids will certainly not use the Pro features, and for this scenario, the price of $200 is simply too expensive for me.

Would it perhaps make sense to simply purchase a Standard license with two additional seats included? Can I even purchase a Standard license in addition to the Pro license? Can the Standard license also access my Pro database (probably yes).
The disadvantage is clearly that I would then have to pay a separate annual maintenance fee for Standard and Pro, and the new “maintenance”-model really annoys me at this point.

Now I’m torn because I really don’t know what would be the better/smarter solution for my family.
Does anyone have any helpful advice?

Yes, you can purchase Standard as well. It would cost $99 and the yearly maintenance is $49. That would cover the seats you need for them. However, you’d now have ~$150 for yearly maintenance for both Standard and Pro licenses.

Or you could add two seats for Pro for ~$200 but only pay $99 per year for maintenance. That cost covers all four seats.

Neither is an obvious solution but I’d personally opt for the additional seats.
