I have a couple of questions on smart searches and tags.
- Is it possible to have a smart search to show all untagged items from the database, but ignore contents of one of the groups in the database.
2.Currently I have a smart search which shows ITEM that “is not” TAGGED.
However this is displaying groups and tags and not just the items -which seems very odd. Like in screenshot.
How do I have it only display actual untagged items and not include untagged tags.
Open the groups.
And you can set Exclude from Search on the undesirable group or add a property, e.g., a tag, and add a criterion of Tag is not _______.
Thank you.
I dont want to fully exclude from search as at times I will need to search -I only want it excluded from a specific smart search.
I like your suggestion of adding criterion of tag is not______
To make this work for me though, they would need to be tagged but not manually.
Is there a way to automatically tag items which are sent/placed into a speciifc group?
I tried adding a tag to a group hoping this would automatically tag the items inside but that doesnt seem to work
Yes, of course (and this is covered in the manual)… enable Inherit Tags of Groups in File > Database Properties. Check that box then tag a group and its children receive the tag. Similarly they lose the tag when moved out of the group.
Thank you. Thats brilliant. Really appreciate it. Sorry I should take a longer look at the manual.
No worries at all.
And indeed, the manual is full of good info and downloadable. There’s also the Help > Tutorials, our blog, and our support ticket system. You all have many resources available
