Reading password-protected PDFs has broken?

Hi,

When I click on password-protected PDFs, DT used to ask me for the password (as Preview does). But now it just greys out the entirety of my document browser window, and forces me to restart DT before I can use my database again.

Thanks,
John

In DEVONthink Pro Office 2.8.1 on 10.9.5 I get the password screen for reader access as usual:

What versions of DEVONthink and OS X are you using? Have you rebooted recently?

Huh, I’m also using 2.8.1 on 10.9.5, and that’s exactly what I used to see. Now I see this:

Does this happen with all password protected PDFs or just this particular one?

Does it persist after a machine reboot?

It happens to all of them, and I’ll check after a reboot.

I filed a bug report yesterday. Christian confirmed a fix for the next maintenance update, after reviewing my DTPO logs.

Korm: This happened under 10.9.5 with DTPO 2.8 and 2.8.1, with several encrypted pdfs in 3pane view, which are known to have worked previously, and this survived reboots.

John: you don’t have to restart, opening a new window restored the view for me; the old window though remains useless and has to be closed.
