I’d like to rebuild my index because it contains some files that I no longer want there. What is the best way to do that? I’m assuming I could just delete the index but I don’t know where it’s located.

Click the Action menu (gear icon) and choose Update Index to force it. Also, this will happen if Preferences > General > Update Index is set to Automatically.
