Registration difficulties updating to 4.0.1 from 4.0beta3

After installing the update to 4.0.1, I’m presented with a blank registration form. I go to my account, look up the license, and click activate, but nothing happens. I’m thinking that maybe it’s confused because the app is already running, so I quit the app and try again. Again, I’m presented with a blank registration form. OK, maybe I’m supposed to manually copy the registration info. I do that and get a nice message thanking me for registering my product. After dismissing that box I get another blank registration page. Maybe I have to quit the app before the new license is recognized. Nope, still seeing a blank registration page. I try registering again, but get a message that this device registered within the last 5 day. Try again in a few days. OK, maybe try removing this device from my account on the web page. That didn’t seem to do anything at first, but after refreshing the page I discovered it showed a new registration dated today. Weird, because I removed that device and wasn’t expecting it to reappear. Well, maybe it’s fixed. Launch the app again, but still getting a blank registration form. Let’s try clicking the “Remove” button on the registration form. Well, that didn’t seem to do anything as I still get a blank registration form. Go back to the account page and click the “Activate” button one more time. This is encouraging! This time I get a registration page populated with my registration information. Click the Register button again and get the Thank you for registering message I’ve seen before. Close that message and now I’m not getting another blank registration form. Check the about message, and I see it’s now registered to me.
Sorry about going on for so long, but I wanted to illustrate that the upgrade and registration process don’t work very well.

Which browser do you use? Is DEVONthink 3 still installed on your computer? Copying the license code and manually entering it in the License panel should work at least.

I use Chrome on macOS Sequoia. When I manually entered the registration info I got a success message, but the app never actually recognized the new registration. I’m not sure which combination of actions finally worked, but I believe it was either removing the device from my account or clicking the Remove button in the registration form.

How exactly did you notice this? Was the license removed again?

Had you already installed the 4.0 Copernicus release from this morning or did you update from beta 3 to 4.0.1?

I installed the 4.0.1 from the Beta, and get a ‘Request Timed Out’ message when i paste my license code in and hit register. I had v3, ran both betas.

Hiya, in case it helps. I kept trying and it was still doing the same. So I connected to my VPN as being in the UK (London) - note I am in Manchester UK, and it worked first time.
