Remind me by sending an email

This program never ceases to amaze me. I sometimes want to be reminded about an item and I have used alerts such as bounce the dock icon, or make a sound. I sometimes miss these reminders, (or dismiss them because I am focusing on another task). I have just discovered you can send an email reminder … I don’t know how I have previously missed this but it is very useful to me.

An example I have just taken out Dog Insurance for a year, and have set a reminder to the policy document, so it will send me an email in a year to review the policy. That is so useful

One request. Could it be made an option to add a reminder to apple reminders ?

Das wäre Großartig.

That is already possible through a reminder script. In DEVONthink, press ⇧⌘/ and type reminder script for relevant instructions.

Thank you for this.

If I wanted to excute an external script directly from remind me dialogue, the box appears to be greyed out ? How do I get it to point to an external script ?

There has to be scripts installed to choose from.
Choose Scripts menu > Open Script Folder and check the Reminders directory.
If there are scripts in there, go into macOS’ System Settings > Privacy & Security and make sure DEVONthink has Full Disk Access.

Try this – I wouldn’t be without it:

This is only tangentially related, so I can start a new thread if needed, but I’ve noticed that my reminders don’t follow daylight savings time–e.g., I have a reminder that sends me an iMessage at 8:00 am every day–but after the time change, it sends at 9:00 am–then in the fall, it will switch back to 8:00 am…

I’ve never spent any time troubleshooting it, but anyone else notice this?
