Removing highlighting

I really like highlighting for occasional sections of text, but I noticed tonight that if I copy and paste some highlighted text into another app, I cannot remove the highlighting! I’m trying to use the Apple text box in the pasted app, with options for selecting text or background color, but can only change the text color.

I guess I could remove highlighting with a click while still in DTPro, but I was wondering if highlighting is supposed to demonstrate this behavior?

Thanks,
Craig

Sure. It’s a standard RTF feature and supported by Mac OS X’s text engine. Unfortunately the standard font and color panels of Cocoa applications can’t change the background color and that’s the reason why there’s a “Background” checkbox in DT’s color panel.

Have you tried “Paste and Match Style” in the application to which you’re pasting?
