Loving the DTG4 update! Right now it lets you generate thumbnails like DTG3 did, which is great, but you can’t replace those thumbnails. More importantly, you can’t set the thumbnail / icon for groups and tags, which you can do on the desktop.
The reason I bring this up now is that the information pop up looks built to do this. In most apps, a giant image at the top of an editable form means you can tap it and change it. If you tap that image in DTTG4 though, it just activates title editing.
The ability to change thumbnails / icons is so helpful with ADHD, as it turns a wall of text into engaging rows. Emojis in the title are nice, but they’re limiting, and you still end up seeing the thumbnail / icon next to it. Thanks for listening!
These names are in the filesystem and have the potential to cause issues. Problems may occur with certain backup applications or when trying to move files to an NAS. It may even be problematic to use filenames containing emojis with a cloud service.
This is exactly why this feature is needed. You shouldn’t have to use emojis because the icon itself is editable / customizable. In my example, Neurodiversity is safe for all filesystems as it uses an icon. Identity and Self on the other hand is problematic because I had to use an emoji in the name
