Restricting Web Interface to Local Network?

Apologies if this has already been answered, I could not uncover it in searching the forums. I am interested to share DEVONthink database to other computers on my local network with 7 additional users in my office. I understand that we can set up a web server software to allow access to the system via an IP address and port forwarding through the web browser. Is it possible to disable this from being publicly accessible, so that only computers on the local network can have access to this web interface? How would I do this?

This is possible but depends on your router. As long as the router blocks the port used by the web server and no port is forwarded to the port of the web server, the interface shouldn’t be accessible from the outside (e.g. that’s what I do over here).
