I just upgraded from DT3 to 4. The appearance of text font size, of my RTF files is now too small to read How can put things back to the way they were? Screenshots attached. Top one is the appearance in DT3 and the bottom one it the DT4 appearance.
Since the font size in the RTFs haven’t changed, there must be some setting to change the zoom for the DT4 displayed appearance of the RTF’s.
How about: Menu: View → Zoom In or Menu: View → Zoom Out which I understand is persistent and “remembered”. Did you look around for the Zoom command? Menu: Help → type in “zoom” and see what’s available.
You are right, the View>Zoom changes are persistent for that document. But I would need to zoom every one of my RTF’s. I may have made some global change in DT3, but would have been years ago. But if I did, it didn’t propogate to my DT4 upgrade.
I looked through all the “zoom” instances in Menu>Devonthink Help and found nothing about any global setting to change the zoom factor for the document. There are also settings In Devonthink>Settings>General>Appearance. But they only change the Zoom of the screen text of the documents list (not the document view), the Sidebar and Chat. Settings>Editing>Format shows default fonts, but I can’t see anything related to control of the zoom of the document screen.
Actually, magnification is persistent for rich text. If you zoom in or out of a rich text document, the subsequent documents use the same magnification factor.
For me the zoom view is persistent.

Wow Jim, that’s good to know. I just tested it. I created a new RTF and the font appearance was small. I then zoomed that document so that it was readable to me. I then created another new document and it started out zoomed to the same degree as the new one I’d just created. Then I went back to other RTF’s in the database, and they were also zoomed to the same level, all readable now. Thank you so much.
Excellent, I get it now. With your help and BLUEFROG’s I see that when I change the zoom on an RTF file, that same zoom level persists when opening all RTFs in the database.
