Safe to delete DTOCRHelper.app?

I’m happily using DEVONthink 3.0, which excludes OCR features, and so can I delete …/Application Support/DEVONthink 3/Abbyy/DTOCRHelper.app?

It’s taking up 1.3GB, which is not a huge amount, but… :slight_smile:

Since that file is in the DEVONthink 3 folder structure, why do you think it’s un-needed?

I believe DEVONthink uses software licensed from ABBY, so I guess I would not conclude the file not needed. Whatever.

It’s indeed not required by the Standard edition and can be optionally installed via DEVONthink 3 > Install Add-Ons…

Thanks. There’s no Uninstall Add-Ons option so should just delete directly in Finder, right?

Btw: I don’t recall ever installing it and so think it was residue from the full install that I trialled before opting for Standard edition.

Yes, you can quit DEVONthink and remove the file manually.
And yes, it was likely installed when you ran the trial.
