Safe to Tahoe now that is is .1?

Hi all, now that Tahoe is .1, does anyone still have any anxiety updating? (I’m referring to any DT concerns, of course)

I certainly have no anxieties but upgrading now fixes no known problems for me. i will upgrade in New Year after one or 2 more incremental.

I have already updated and I haven’t found any new problems. I still have problems with the Safari extension but other than that nothing. I’m even starting to get used to the look of Tahoe

I blindly waded in on day one and reported issues with Safari repeatedly ejecting the ‘Send To’ menu it; I’m pleased to report that the surgery DEVONtechnologies performed has made it stay in place consistently for some time now. I have noticed no other issues, but of course YMMV.

Is this the surgery you mean? Reinstall Safari Extension - #15 by cgrunenberg

thanks guys! :folded_hands:

Well, that would me me performing the surgery on myself, which I understand is not recommended metaphorically or literally.

However, I think the latest version of DT works around the joys of OS updates, and keeps the safari send-to item reliably in place now; I’ve not had any issues for some time.

This morning I downloaded DT again and installed (on top of the old installation). This brought the Safari Sharing and Quicklook extension back. When I activated the Safari extension I got a pop up saying something like

DT is an app downloaded from the Internet, etc etc. Are you sure you want to open it?

I don’t remember that I’ve gotten this pop-up for this extension previously. Let’s see if the extension remains after reboots of my machine.

OK, installed Tahoe 26.1, no issues so far with DT.

DEVONthink 4.1.1 is running smoothly here after updating to Tahoe 26.1.

I moved to Tahoe immediately and did not have any of the Safari issues others ran into.

Not with DT so far but only been on it for a couple of days. However a lot of other negative things have happened with Apple Photo support files crashing, Sending Mail sound disappearing until I set Focus settings to “Always”, some menu items crashing. and it did not fix Phone Amego which I use for dialing my landline via a fax modem as Facetime no longer can see it and tries to dial the number from my iPhone or fails completely. It was working in Sequoia. My conclusion is that it is still quite buggy and if you are not on Tahoe yet I would stay off of it for a while unless you need some of its new features. What ever they ‘fixed’ did not address the issues I was having with 26.0 or 26.01. I would not be using Tahoe if I had not been coerced to do so from Apple Support to fix an issue that it did not fix. It really would be nice if Apple did proper SQA before releasing updates, relying on user feedback to report bugs that need fixing thus making users into volunteer beta testers.
