You need to modify the Send to in the scanning profile to point to DEVONthink 4.
Documents don’t just disappear because you enabled Full Disk Access. I’d hazard a guess the databases aren’t open. Have you verified they’re open?

OK, I think I’m getting there regarding the ScanSnap. I edited the DEVONthink 3 profile to make sure it pointed to the new DEVONthink 4 app. I then scanned a document and it went directly into the Inbox for DEVONthink. So it looks like THAT problem is solved.
However, I have checked and double-checked, and my database is open, but nothing (other than this one newly-scanned document) appears in my Inboxes. What else can I try?
Open a support ticket and include a full-resolution, uncropped screen capture of DEVONthink.
Thanks Jim. I have opened a support ticket and included the full-resolution screen capture as you instructed. What a mystery! The good news (maybe) is that I keep a copy of DEVONthink with my databases on a different Mac, which still appears to have all the data from my Inboxes. I’ve mentioned that in my support ticket as well.
And thanks for your patience regarding setting up DEVONthink 4 and ScanSnap to restore the functionality I had with DEVONthink 3.
Randy
You’re welcome
I’ll keep an eye out for your ticket.
Okay, so I’ve picked up an ScanSnap iX1300. I’ve gone through the setup of ScanSnap Home, connected it to wifi, installed the latest software and firmware updates, added the DEVONthink Pro Office application per your post.
So far so good.
When I get to step 4 it breaks down. I do not get any “applications” to choose when adding a new profile.
But it requires clicking in 2 dialog boxes to complete the process. It was my understanding that with the ScanSnap, I’d be able to just feed documents into the scanner and have the sent to my Global Inbox.
Also, the ScanSnap does not show up as an Image Capture Device.
I have this mostly sorted.
The first dialog is the result of using the return scan slot on the front of the iX1300, and it can be dismissed by pressing the Scan button a second time.
The second dialog is the result of checking Enter metadata after text recognition. Unchecking this option and using the u-turn feed on the scanner resolves the main problem(s).
Remaining problem: ScanSnap does not show up under Devices on the Import panel.
That is not a bug. It is documented and discussed that ScanSnap scanners cannot be controlled by DEVONthink or via Apple’s Image Capture.
I was just looking that up in Joe Kissell’s book. I thought that might be the case. It’s slightly disappointing not to have the other option (more options more better). But honestly I’ve never been crazy about using method even with the Brother I’ve been using.
Now that I have it working, the methods that do work are far preferable.
Thanks for the follow up.
You’re welcome.
