It appears that DTTG 4 requires that Location Access is turned on. If Location Access is set to Never, then when tapping [+], selecting Scan… brings up the camera. You can take a picture, adjust the crop, etc., but when you tap the check mark to save the document, it vanishes. Nothing is saved. If you turn Location Access on, the document is saved, OCR is done, etc., as desired—except that the geolocation tag is added.
If this is repeatable behavior, can it be fixed so that scanning works without having Location Access turned on?
I have the same problem here on the earlier version, 4.0.1. Scans don’t get saved. Had no idea it had to do with location access, which I have turned off. Don’t know how to turn it on again though, I can’t find the setting. Have looked anywhere.
Where can I configure where the scanned PDFs will be stored? Currently they appear in a new group labelled “PDF Documents” and then have to move them manually. I would like them to be stored direclty in the inbox.
Welcome @aaab
There is no place to define that. If you’re creating the document while the sidebar is selected, the documents are created in the Global Inbox. Otherwise they are created in the current location, e.g,. in a specific database or group.
And if you’re referring to the All PDFs in the sidebar, that is a global smart group. It’s exposing matched items, not containing anything.
I use the “New scan” option from the context menu via the DTTG icon (which I love, btw). Does that mean that the scanned doc will end up whereever I have left of when I used the app last? If that is th case, it would be a useful feature if the target location could be specified.
