Screen Shot Oddities in Sorter?

Maybe it’s me, but I’ve noticed something odd with Sorter screen shots. I found this as I was exploring this feature as not something I do very often. Idle time, I guess.

When picking “Window” the computer cycles through the open windows allowing me to pick one, but I don’t get the Sorter dialog box to fill in meta data, where to save, or even a save button.

When picking “Selection”, the computer gives me the little system icons that allows me to pick an area of the screen with the mouse, but then despite what I select, what gets put into Sorter is a portion of the Desktop background.

When picking “Screen”, it works as expected (presenting the Sorter window with options and the Save button).

This is a known bug when capturing tall, narrow screen captures. it will be addressed in the next maintenance release.

ok. i did not recall it a known bug.

FYI i was selecting wide short screen selections and windows of “normal” size.

Ahh… I think I misread your post.

Did you give DEVONthink Screen Recording permissions in System Settings > Privacy & Security?

Ahh here too! No, that permission was not set.

It didn’t occur to me to check for that as something got copied into clipboard. After granting those permissions, all the issues I reported up-post are now gone.

Resolved.
