When reading a pdf in DT I will see a reference that may be in my DT database. Is it possible to copy the name of the reference. then search for it, and if it is present, opening it in a new window. I know I can open a new DT window first and search for the file, but is there any way to do it without having to open a new window to do the search. Or perhaps an applescript to do that?
Select the text, Control-click it, and choose »Search xxxxx«. A search will be initiated in the window. You can double-click a result to open it in a new window.
Clear the search to return to your document.
Doesn’t work for me. When I highlight a file name and right-click it, I get a list of options starting with Copy Page Link and ending in Services. When I CTRL-(right or left) click the highlighted name, the same thing happens. There is no “search’ in and of itself; just “Search selected phrase”, or Search with Ecosia (or Google). When I use “Search selected phrase”, it searches the database for the selected phrase, and if there is a file with that name, it highlights it, but does not open in a window, and if I click on the highlighted phrase, it opens, but then I am no longer in the file that I was searching from.
