Hello everybody,
When searching for an alias, it’s not easy to find the desired one because the SERP doesn’t show the alias (and unfortunately, it’s not possible to enable it in the list configuration). Is there any trick?
Thanks!
Hello everybody,

It’s unclear what you’re actually looking for as aliases aren’t supported in DEVONthink nor DEVONthink To Go.
@BLUEFROG Thanks for your response but … that’s a surprise … maybe there is a confusion?
The DEVONthink Help states the following:
Aliases: Displays any aliases for the selected item. Enter one or more words here, separated by semicolons, as alternative targets for Wiki links. Generally, Wiki links refer to the name of contents, and aliases make this system even more flexible.
The info pane shows “Aliases” and in the main window it’s possible to show that column too.
As in DEVONthink it’s possible to show the column … I wondered if it’s possible to show that information in DEVONthink To Go on the search result page.
For example, when searching for “hhg-3” I would like to be able to show the alias information in the result page (maybe next to “Tags”) so that I’m able to recognize which document has the alias I’m looking for.
= Search Engine Results Page
I had to look up that abbreviation, a new one for me
Maybe @BLUEFROG thought you were referring to aliases in the file system?
Like you, my bet was to adjust Summary
in the View Options. But indeed it seems Aliases
is not available for the Summary of items in the Item List. The only place I can find to access it is the Info Popover.
Ahh… indeed I was thinking you were referring to filesystem aliases.
No, aliases are not available in the summaries of the item list in DEVONthink To Go. It is the first request of its kind. No promises but it is noted.
Thanks for your help!
@BLUEFROG OK, I understand. I hope it can be implemented in a future update.
You’re welcome.
