This is going to be one of those vague and frustrating bug reports, sorry.
When reading PDFs on DTTG, I’ve noticed I’m not always able to select text with either my finger or pencil (not in editing mode). I can recreate the issue on 2 iPads and my iPhone so I think it’s a bug somewhere (all devices running latest iOS and DTTG).
It’s not consistent and I’ve not found a reliable way to recreate the issue. I will be in a file and able to select some text fine, and then a few minutes later when I try again the app doesn’t recognise that my finger is on the screen trying to select text. If I wait a minute and try again, often that works and it starts selecting text again. Coming out of the app (but not force closing) can also get it working again. Other buttons work fine in this time, it’s not that the app is not allowing any interaction, it’s only interaction with the text that stops.
I will keep an eye on this and report if I notice any patterns, but I thought I’d post here so that others could say if they’ve observed the same thing and can shed any light.
And what is the setting in multitasking and gestures? I had a similar issue with selection when I was in full screen apps mode, but worked OK in Windowed apps mode.
I’ve tested the multi-tasking mode for an hour this morning and I experience the same issue whether I’m in full-screen or windowed apps so it seems that this isn’t an element in play.
I have also experienced this. It was particularly painful on my 2019 iPad Air. I recently switched to the latest M5 iPad Pro, and it’s less obvious. But still a thing.
I just wanted to report that this issue is still happening on DTTG4.1, across all my devices. I still haven’t worked out what might be causing it - whether it’s random or whether something happens that prevent text from being selected.
I’m hoping someone else is experiencing it and has got further in their troubleshooting than I’ve managed!
Hi, I experience the same on a fully updated 9th gen. iPad. Sometimes closing / reopening the app or switching to another app and back helps, but also not consistently.
