Size of merged JPGs

I recently merged two 1mb JPGs, and got a 14mb PDF out of it. I see from the Forums that in the past this bloat couldn’t be fixed, because DTPO relied on the Mac OS PDFkit – but I understand that the latest version of DTPO doesn’t use that anymore. Is there now a fix for the bloating of merged JPGs?

That is incorrect that the latest version doesn’t use PDFKit. It doesn’t use some parts of it.

So no way to fix the merge bloat? You know if there are any plans to find a fix? – merge is a pretty useful feature, made less so (much) by this issue…
