Smart folders not working?

I’m probably doing something stupid, but I can’t seem to get smart folders to work. I have created a folder Apple News, and attached the script Apple News.scpt to it through the Tools -> Show Info pop-up window. Selecting Applen News folder, navigating into etc does not do anything. How do I trigger the script?

It should be “triggered” after selecting the group in vertical/horizontal split views or in 3-pane views or after opening (e.g. double-clicking) the group.
