Smart Group to Show Statements for a given year

Trying to find a recipe for a Smart Group that will show Credit Card Statements for any given year.
After some experimentation I concluded that criteria/criterion have to be based on the date printed on the statement. However, formats vary.

So for one the format might be 01/31/13
To identify this I tried, after numerous failed attempts, the following = “//13” But I infer from this [url]Smart group operators and wildcards] that you cannot use the wildcard with numbers. Is that correct? Certainly my recipe as given doesn’t work.

If so how would you go about creating a recipe for identifying this type of six digit date format.
