Smart Group with scope of specific databases?

Is it possible to create a Smart Group to include specific databases? I’ve scoured the forum and it seems that’s not possible? It’s interesting that simply selecting multiple databases changes the scope to scope: selection and does exactly what I need, but I can’t save it as a group.

Any way to create a Smart Group with a scope of specific databases? I know there’s work around e.g. by excluding certain top level folders, but I’m looking for a more robust solution.

No, this is not possible since the target of a smart group / smart rule is singular. And selection works because that’s exactly what it’s handling, the selected items, In a smart group there is no selection choice. Databases targets all open databases, so technically, if you only had the databases necessary for your search open, you’d get the behavior you’re asking for.

Development would have to assess any changes in this behavior.
