Smartrule to remove strings like Fwd: from name

Hi,

is it somehow possible to set up a SmartRule, which can remove Strings like "Fwd: " or "Re: " from the name of an item?

If there’s only one such prefix in each subject, then you could use the new actions of version 3.5:

Otherwise a simple embedded script would have to strip the prefixes.

thanks a lot. I tried the Scan Name, but i thought it would generate some placeholders i can select in the Placeholder menu. This will do the trick !

The Document String placeholder is indeed the result of a Scan Name/Text string action. And scanning for dates/amounts can be used via the document date/amount (but that’s rarely necessary as DEVONthink can detect the date/amount in most cases on its own).
