[Solved] Documents stuck in sync loop

I’m seeing a strange problem that I cannot explain. I sync a MacBook DT with Bonjour to DT on a Mac Pro. All works fine. I have, however, a set of about 20 documents that get their modified date stamp changed as a result of sync. Consequently, the file is synced again, gets its date stamp updated, etc, etc.

These documents are in different databases. Even if I move them to a database that syncs with webdav they behave the same: they keep on syncing.

Most documents are RTF with attachments, but there is also a numbers file that exposes this behaviour.

For the time being I moved the offending documents to a non-syncing database.

Anyone any clue? Both DT’s are version 3.9.7. Macbook is sequoia, Mac Pro is on Monterey

Does the Window → Log give clues?

Try a File → Verify & Repair Database … on the offending database. I’d do same on both machines with Bonjour temporarily turned off.

Yes, (of course) I did that already ;). No entries in the log window either

And the documents are probably imported, not indexed? Any smart rules active on your machines that are dealing with these documents?

Indeed, imported. I should not have any smart rules

I don’t know if you “should”, but do you? Easy to see in the left sidebar, I think (under “Intelligente Regeln” in the screenshot)

This issue is resolved - for me - in DevonThink 3.9.8. In retrospect the documents with sync issues were all package files
