How fast should we expect the sync to occur on a “bigger” database. I sync only a small number of db’s on my iPad Pro: basically, my global inbox, books, slip-box and my work db. The work one has just about 22,000 items, mostly PDFs. Sync has been going over 12 hours now and it’s on item 2,417. When the sync is pushing items back to my Mac it is much, much faster. I’m wondering if there is an issue and I need to clean the database and start over, or if this is to be expected.
It’s not possible to determine how long a sync will take, especially on the initial upload. 22,000+ items is a good size number of items, likely multiple gigabytes. Also make sure the iOS device remains awake and DEVONthink To Go is frontmost during the initial sync.
I figured as much. Thanks for stopping my impatience. Hah. Yes, my iPad has just been sitting open on the Magic Keyboard charging, with DT at the front! Hopefully it’s finished by the end of the weekend…
