Two issues I have noticed as I have setup two different Dropbox folders as indexed groups.

One of my indexed Dropbox folders does not delete the files out of the actual Dropbox/Finder folder when I delete it and empty the trash in Devonthink but the other one does. In both cases I select “Remove All Items”

When I move a file from either of my indexed folders to unindexed group, it does not delete the actual file in the Finder. Is this expected behavior?
So I have an update with regards to #1 above. I think I figured out the reason. When I first noticed the issue, I was trying to figure out what was different. Then I noticed the 2nd DB folder (that was not deleting files) was not set as “make available offline” (even though all the files where downloaded). I updated the folder and refreshed the index hoping that would fix it. It did not. So I then deleted that index folder from Devonthink. Closed and reopened and then re-added the index folder, but the problem persisted. It was at this point that I made the above post.
Since then I decided I would try, completely deleting the database it was in and create a new database with another name. When I added the 2nd DB folder via indexing again, the problem persisted. So I figured I would try one las thing. I created another DB folder with a slightly different name, make it available offline, and copied all the folders into the new DB folder. I then added this new DB folder via indexing. I was then able to delete files.
My thought is that when I initially added the DB folder to Devonthink it recognized that it was available offline and therefore set some sort flag that keeps one from being able to delete items. But it seems that even when I rectified the issue Devonthink still had some flag set with regards to that folder.
Now that I got #1 above fixed, I’d love to know if #2 is just expected behavior.
Thanks!
Steve
Indexed items moved to non-indexed groups have no effect on the Finder. If you want them removed from the Finder, use Move Into Database*. This will import the item into the database.
Great . . . thanks for giving clarity to that.
Did you read the In & Out > Importing & Indexing section of the built-in Help and manual?
Yes, I did. If the answers to my questions where there, I totally missed it.
