I know we get this when first setting up sync, but is anybody else getting this regularly lately? I click “Allow” but then get it again a short while later. I don’t know where to look for troubleshooting - Dropbox, my network connection, or DEVONthink.
I did recently start using Arc as my default browser, so perhaps that has something to do with it.
If the popup doesn’t appear in the browser, no. It doesn’t. Your browser is responsible for displaying HTML documents. It has nothing to do with sync or local permissions.
Unfortunately macOS sometimes “forgets” permissions. I have seen that and have confirmed the issue via internet searches. No reliable fixes but i have noticed doing a cold restart from power off helps the system “remember”. And keeping up with current versions of macOS may help
Do you mean the settings set up with Dropbox as the sync store? If so, yes. I’ve had this setup for quite a while, and these prompts only started in the last few days. The good news is that since my last “Allow” of the popup earlier today, it hasn’t come back. Fingers crossed. I’ll do a restart tomorrow morning, too.
No. It is macOS permissions, as I stated. I am pretty sure nothing to do with Dropbox or DEVONthink setup other than these macOS permissions need to be granted, and apparently macOS “forgets”.
I don’ think so – I am still on Ventura 13.6.7. No worries, I thought I’d chip in here but the messages haven’t caused any further trouble. Syncing is still fine.
