Suggestions on what packages of DEVONThink to buy

et al: Read this again and read again who it’s from…

@suliveevil replied to it quite succinctly, homebrew downloads from an official source (DT website) anyways, so what was @cgrunenberg point?

I’ve never used homebrew (although I have used package managers on Linux), and I’ve just spent a little bit of time with their website and FAQ; having then realised Cask is an add on, I spent time on GitHub too :see_no_evil: Unfortunately both the links to contributing and documentation don’t work, so I’m only slightly the wiser. If I understand what they are saying correctly then the URL from which the package is downloaded will be displayed during the download and installation. Is there any way to see that URL prior to installing? Does brew info devonthink do the trick?

Nope

brew info devonthink

shows the basic information of the app

abc@abcs-MacBook-Air ~ % brew info devonthink
devonthink: 3.8 (auto_updates)
https://www.devontechnologies.com/apps/devonthink/
Not installed
From: https://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/homebrew-cask.git
==> Name
DEVONthink
==> Description
Collect, organize, edit and annotate documents
==> Artifacts
DEVONthink 3.app (App)
==> Analytics
install: 91 (30 days), 279 (90 days), 998 (365 days)

when you install it shows the download URL.

According to the official, you should do what they recommended to download from this page:

I’m done talking about this downloading and installing issue.
