Sync documents between iCloud and DEV

Hi
My issue is that when I put a new document Into Devonthink, this document is not copied in the iCloud folder. and is the same this when I put one document into Icloiud He does not appear in devonthink Interface
I don’t understand, because I was dot it before and all was OK.

I had to change something within parameter … but what ?

If you have any idea… Thank a lot

best regards

Hoops … I think that, perhaps, the problem appear when I update macOs to somona ?

With the little information you provide it’s not possible to understand what you’re doing and what’s (not) happening. Indexed or imported documents, what kind of sync, all that is important.

Thank for taking time for my problem.
Example :

1 - I download a new PDF on my computer
2 - I move this PDF directly on the DT interface in the right folder.

Before, in the same time the document was moved in the right folder on my computer (Means iCloud in my case).

But today, the document is well referenced in the DT database BUT he is not moved in the right folder on my Mac (iCloud)

Hope I have been clear enough

regards

Are you referring to indexed files?

Sync is a very specific term and you don’t sync files between DEVONthink and the Finder.

How do you download the PDF? If you say “folder”, do you mean a folder in the Finder (then what’s the role of DT here?) or do you mean a group in DT?

Nope. You still haven’t told us that you are (probably) indexing an iDrive folder in your DT database. But I’m only guessing here.

Thank all

All my personal documents are based on iCloud.

I installed DT and created 3 different data base.

And I use DT just like a file manger.

When I have a new document means PDF or email or Word, I save it on my desk and after I dropped the new document in the right folder through le DV interface.

But I don’t find the document in the folder in iCloud - and I have to go though DV interface for finding the document.

I don’t understand when you talk about Indexed files

Sorry I’m just a not expert user and I’ not really easy with English language

regards

Please read the DT documentation on indexed vs. imported documents. And prevent iCloud from “managing” your files (ie removing them at will) – that will cause all kinds of havoc.

There are also a ton of posts on indexed vs. imported items here in the forum.

No worries! Your English is easily understood. There are just technical terms that are unclear.

If you just drag and drop a document into DEVONthink, it is copied into the database. So I’m not sure why you’d expect something to appear in iCloud (and if you’re referring to iCloud Drive on your Mac or online).

Yes I just drag and drop the document into DT.
Before, when I was drag and drop a document from download into DT, the document was, automatically dropped in the right place on iCloud (or my computer).

For example, I was dropping one Bank document in “Confidential folder” in DV, he was too in the “confidential folde” on my iCloud

That is why I don’t understand.

Thanks

A screenshot of your confidential folder in the database might help.

It is a classic folder based in Icloud …

A screen capture of the group in DEVONthink would still be useful. If you don’t want to share it publicly, open a support ticket.
