Sync produces 7,000 missing files and will not repair

I restored a database from Time Machine. When synced it gives an error message of 7,00 files missing. I am unable to verify and repair the database and it will not sync again. The log keeps asking me to repair and verify every 30 seconds, but it will not work. Where do I go from here?

  1. Sync doesn’t produce missing files.

  2. Missing files are not repaired by a Verify & Repair Database. This is documented in the Troubleshooting > Repairing a Defective Database section of the built-in Help and manual.

  3. Are you indexing instead of importing files? If so, from where in the Finder?

I am afraid that I am unable to make head or tail of the manual. I restored the database to the same place in the finder using Time Machine restore. The m missing files were only apparent after a sync
