I am a lawyer who uses DT for my file management. Is there a way that a tag can be assigned to a folder within a database, such that any email or document opened from within the folder will automatically be tagged with the folder number (5 or 6 numerals) and then carry that tag, especially for emails that may have the subject line changed (where I include the file number now with TextExpander)?
Right-click on the database, check the box next to Inherit Tags of Groups and then tag the group.

What @rpallred said. I am a lawyer as well, and do the same thing with tags such as the case name, “pleading,” “report,” etc.
