Take rich text from Word?

I have DevonThink Pro Office 1.3.4 on Leopard. Is it possible to grab some text from a Word document using the services menu? The commands are greyed out on my installation, suggesting not. Thanks for any clues.

I can’t recall if Word supports the Services menu but if any menu entry there of any application is greyed out that means that it probably doesn’t and then you’re out of luck.
Workaround: in DT you could show the Groups panel and keep it on top, then you can drag and drop text from Word to DT by dropping it on the desired group.
