Technical Search

I’m interested in using DEVONagent to search online technical documentation, but it doesn’t seem capable of doing what I’m asking of it. I’d like to be able to search the AWS documentation (hub.docker.com), Jira, Confluence, and maybe even our Hipchat history. None of the plugins I’ve created for the searches using the DEVONagent help docs work.

I’m frustrated with DA because on one hand I can see it being very useful in my day to day work, but on the other hand I can’t get it to do what I actually want it to do. I see how it can run searches on popular search engines, but I have doubts about it’s efficiency being any better than Google or DuckDuckGo alone. From what I can tell DA’s strength is in being able to customize your searches to narrow down on the information you are looking for, but I’m afraid DA has not been able to keep up with the times.

DA has lived much longer than Sherlock and Watson, but I fear that it may have come to the end of its useful lifespan. I’d love to be proved wrong, of course. Anyone who uses DA regularly is invited to comment here with their use case.

Hello,

try this:

Use the module function within DA and try it out. If tested it with amazon and it works like a charm.

Best regards,

Hi, just started playing with DA (today in fact) and searching Confluence is also important to me-- saw this post, but as I’m just starting out, I’m not sure what is meant by “use the module function”. Could you please help?
