I noticed something weird happening in the latest DEVONthink version: I usually expand the current date stamp before file names using Typinator. In version 3.9.11 text expansion doesn’t seem to work in the first pass. I always have to delete the abbreviation and type it again to expand the snippet. I tried it with both Typinator (latest version) and Alfred (latest version).
First I thought it had something to do with my machine, even rebooted several times – but due to the E-Mail Import issues in 3.9.11 I resorted back to 3.9.10 and noticed the issue was gone. Until now: 100% of expansions work with the earlier version of DNt. I am running Sequoia (which I regret heavily) version 15.5.
Thought this might be of interest for development.
I use Typinator 9.1 with DTP3.9.11 on macOS Sequoia 15.5, and I haven’t encountered the problem you describe. I usually use Typinator within text files created within DTP, where it’s working normally. Just now in the Item List I tried Typinator in an item’s Get Info box and in the Name box, and it worked fine. In each instance, I tested the “d t time” abbreviation (which I can’t type without spaces or you’ll see 2025-06-04 / 9-37-51).
I believe you it’s just that it stopped working for me (=only in the second pass and not only in Typinator), and while I cannot rule out an error on my machine (which I cannot reconstruct), I think it is also interesting that reverting the Dnt version somehow fixed the issue.
Just to let you know: I am running 3.9.11 now and the issue is gone after I did a Verify & Repair on my database. Apparently it seems I created some issues while reorganising my data and setting up sync. Since I let DEVONthink set the database straight, text expansion worked again and even several quirks with tasks such as Go to are gone now.
