Title and UUID w Annotations template

Hi,
I want to create a template for annotations in the Annotations.noindex folder. Variables such as %date% and %time% work exactly as I expect.
I would also like to create a markdown link to the source document in the same way, as it is in the default template.
However, these variables do not work for me. After creating the note, the document’s name and UUID are not replaced in the note.

The documentation does not mention %uuid% nor %title%. And I guess that’s for a reason. If you create something from a template, the UUID doesn’t exist yet, nor does the title. I think.

Use %documentLink%..

That is listed under “Annotations and reminders/New from template”, but not under “Smart templates” where a bunch of template placeholders are mentioned. Perhaps consolidating all possible placeholders somewhere might be a good idea?

I know, but for default templates in rtf and markdown it works. So… I want the same!

I would like a link to the source document, not to the note itself.

And use %recordName% instead of %title% (see also Insert Placeholder submenu of the contextual menu)

That’s how the placeholder functions in an annotation template. It’s a link to the referring document, not the annotation file.

Okay, it looks like it magically works! Many thanks for the help and the quick response.
